The extent of the bowing was causing great concern with both the parish and the church architect. In order to implement the necessary work on both the glass and the roof English Heritage Grant funding was saught.

We were commissioned to provide a full conservation report on the glass to make a case for funding with an order of priority and costings. After the grant was approved we removed the worst windows and set about taking out the bows that were in some cases up to 70mm.

Some lost glass was replaced with new painted pieces and some lost detail re-instated on backing plates. Cracked glass was edgebonded and lead that was too badly damaged to conserve was replaced.
